undercover utopia is a division of undercover productions, a boutique company run by abhigyan & mrinal jha. you can find more on them on this site elsewhere and also on google search. the thing most important about abhigyan & mrinal is that they went bankrupt at 21 and were left with only 40000 rupees. they wrote a book called November Rain and published it with their last remaining paisas. this was in 1993 before liberalisaton kicked in. that one book has built the careers of two of india's most prolific television writers who between them have entertained more than 500 million viewers across 5000 hours of Prime Time across 4 continents. with undercover utopia, abhigyan & mrinal have returned to their roots. books.

6 - 7, in the first year. we are here to stay. and as we grow we will target 25 a year

will we publish new writers?

of course we will. we are tired of the old writers. that is why we have put our hard earned money at stake to launch this new imprint. this venture is not funded by venture capitalists. if you have something to say that the world needs to listen to, you should try us. we like big ideas and great stories. for the last 15 years we have seen that "what" is any day greater than all the "hows" put together. and guess what, it's not something we found first. it's been that way forever. Socrates was one of the first to point it out though. another thing. with all apologies to Mr..bhattsa'ab and his brethren, we believe in originality. We want to revolutionize Indian Fiction in particular. Indian Pop Fiction on international bookshelves is our dream. get those fantastic original desi Indian stories flowing out of your pen. we will take you to the world.

what is the scope of our operations?

we will operate globally through our partners like Amazon and eBay. and our books will be books of global appeal. not cross over. genuinely global. we already have submissions from USA and we are always open to writers from all around the world but we do have a soft corner for writers of Indian Pop Fiction and Desi Indian Stories. Only, we want desi Indian stories to mean the world to even kids in Bosnia. Life Is A Story. And everyone is listening.
